Where:
Building sites and special events locations vary
What/
When/ How Often:
- Lunch
"caterer" - Prepare, donate, and deliver food for construction
volunteers and Habitat families - Take food to a worksite
on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays around lunchtime. Individuals
and/ or groups could commit to the time slot or another
date on a one-time or regular basis. Groups can sign up
for a regular slot to go together or to coordinate a rotation
or schedule among themselves.
- Construction
worker - Help with the construction of a Habitat house.
For children ages 16 and older.
- Build
Sponsor Signs for new Habitat houses. Youth (10 and older)
can hammer, paint and decorate the sponsor signs. There
are three ways volunteers can participate in this project.
1) Adults and youth can do this activity at their home,
church or school. We will provide instructions, nails, and
wood. Volunteers will need to provide their own stencils,
exterior paint and brushes. Paint can be purchased very
cheaply at our ReUse Center. 2) Adults and youth (10 years
old and older) can come to one of our construction sites
on dates yet to be determined. . We will be painting and
using stencils to write out sponsor names and families on
the signs. We love to teach, so volunteer don’t need any
prior experience. One parent or guardian must be present
with their child at the construction site at all times.
3) Creative and artistic youth can also paint pictures on
the back of the sponsor signs. Pictures can be related to
Habitat’s mission of building homes for families or what
a “home” personally means to them.
- Recycling
volunteer: With the program, 'Cans for Habitat", recycling
aluminum cans diverts trash from landfills and builds Habitat
homes! Habitat provides volunteers with cardboard bins and
posters. Youth volunteers can also build wooden 'house"
shaped bins. Youth volunteers organize aluminum can drives
to collect cans. Please help us recycle!

- Special
events - Events and times vary. See the Kids Connect calendar
to get details and RSVP. On Your Own - Organize your own
fundraiser to raise money to purchase toolkits, home maintenance
kits and garden kits for new homeowners. Habitat will provide
packets and suggestions for getting started.
