information and support to individuals and groups who collaborate
on cultural, educational, medical, and spiritual projects
in Haiti. Based in Raleigh, NC, the project is run entirely
by volunteers. A great way for individual kids or groups of

instruments, music, school supplies, books, and software.

Heifer
International
http://www.heifer.org
Heifer
International has been committed to ending world hunger for
over 60 years. The organization takes a holistic approach
to building sustainable communities and has developed a set
of global initiatives – areas of emphasis that must be addressed.
Heifer also has developed educational programs to teach adults
and youth about the issues of hunger and poverty. The following
are just a few of the ways families can support their work.
Check out their website for more information on these and
other intiatives.
- Give
a Gift Animal - - Choose a meaningful gift to give a loved
one and help children and families around the world receive
training and animal gifts that help them become self-reliant.
On-line gift catalog allows you and your child to "shop"
together.
- Raise
Funds - Heifer offers several programs and resources to
assist individuals and groups with fundraising - Read to
Feed, Animal Crackers, Fill the Ark, Living Gift Market
and a Donors' Fundraising Ideas list.
- Heifer
Giving Registry - Register with Heifer's online gift registry.
It works just like traditional store registries. But there’s
one big difference. Instead of choosing toasters or dishes,
you select gifts of hope that help families become self-reliant.
It’s more about giving than gifts. You and your family can
together participate in this meaningful way to celebrate
special events such as weddings, birthdays, graduations,
anniversaries, and holidays. Red Cross International
