Food
Barrel Program - Volunteers help place and monitor food
barrels in Johnston County grocery stores to collect dog
and cat food to help local shelters as well as registered
animal foster care families.
Foster
Families - JCAPL is in need of some special families to
help some needy pets until we can place them in forever
homes. Foster Families provide: daily
care and a start on training to help the foster animal become
a welcome family member; attendance at adopt-a-thon events;
helping to screen applicants for their foster pet; bringing
their foster pet to scheduled vet appointments for their
spay/neuter surgery and providing post-operative care afterwards.
JCAPL provides: Testing both medical and behavioral, before
the pet is placed in its foster home; food, dishes, leash/collars
for dogs(toys and treats when items are donated); vaccines;
deworming and spay/neuter surgeries (Spay/Neuter is done
after pet has an application approved).
Training
Wheels Outreach Program - Volunteers pick up and deliver
dog houses to needy Johnston County families. Must have
the use of a pick-up truck.
Newsletter
Outreach - Volunteers help distribute newsletters, flyers
and JCAPL brochures. Time required is a few hours each month
or every other month. Volunteers agree to distribute materials
in a certain area of Johnston County.

Animal Fair and Fundraiser - May 20th.

Shelter Open House - June 10. Benefitting the Animal Control
Shelter of JC. Volunteers are coordinated through JCAPL.
Free
food, vendors, games, music, pet adoptions and more.
